never know who you will meet at a car show...

This weekend I had Midge in a show & a couple walked up & started reminising about the 67' Midget their daughter drove while in highscool, about how she hauled 7 people in it to the golf course (and got a visit from the police over it), the repair bills to keep it running etc. etc., seeing that my car has been "locally" owned since new (I think I'm owner number 8 or something) I asked what her name was & who they sold it to... I checked my ministry owners record & then introduced them to the same car !
Of course they remember Midge in the original basilica blue, the lady has my contact info. & said she is sure they have some old pictures of her from days gone by & she will get ahold of me when she digs them up.
They got pictures to show their daughter & we shared a great conversation, good times.

Neat story!

Thanks for sharing.

So many have a tie back to some type of spridget, and when we drive them they get good memories of some good old times. Not many are so direct though. We on the other hand are creating those times for ourselves. I truly think that many who have the modern sports cars are really looking for what we have in these cars On the other hand, the mantianence on a Miata is almost zero. Thats nice too.

Ya, my miata runs when I ask it to, the midget is more of a "I'll see how I feel today" ... you are right though, I bought a miata because I wanted that little car feel that these midgets / sprites have, but having a Japanese version wanst cutting it, had to get the real deal

That's amazing Jer! First, in St Ignace, you meet the MGB driver who lives right near you, and now the old owner of the car!
