Went on a tour of the Nethercutt Museum today. Nethercutt This is an awesome place to visit if you are in the Southern California. Many extremely rare autos including a 1929 Hupmobile and two Dusenbergs. Best part is it is free. The museum is open to the general public, the collection requires reservations for to tour, but is well worth the time. Here are a few of the pics I took while there.

It's definitely well worth a visit. Not only do they have several floors of cars, but the rooms themselves are amazing as are the collections of hood ornaments, antique furniture and music machines which are all played at the end of the tour. It's one of the better collections I've been to.

There are two buildings. One has a huge collection of cars, is open to the public anytime, and, believe it or not, free admission. The second building requires the reservations, but they're not hard to make. It has more cars, and a whole collection of largely unrelated groups of things that the family found interesting. One, for example, is a large collection of mechanical musical instruments.

Apparently they also have shops where the cars are restored and maintained. That's the part I'd really like to see, but it's not open to the public, alas.

If you get the chance, it's one you really don't want to miss.

Ive been through the restoration shop. If you ever get the chance, it's worth it. Just seeing spare Bugatti Type 35 parts sitting on top of shelving units is worth the trip. And the magneto collection, also in the shop area, is probably the biggest anywhere!

The 'Collier Collection' is another amazing place. Unfortunately not "public" anymore.
