Although John thinks the guy charged us too much, so he put a call into the shop, but the shop closes at 3:00. I'm going to talk to John, find out what they should have charged (based on many cars John's sent there) and call the shop in the morning.

After they got her back to John's shop, they cleaned her up, and cut away in front of the back wheel wells (is that the doglegs?) - and possibly cut out a portion of the driver's side rear fender as well and replace it. I'll know more tomorrow, they (Chuck & John) are going to work on her most the day!
 
Looks pretty good. I'm really getting excited. I wish I was as good as you with documenting the entire restore!
 
You're probably right. It would become a chore I think. I'm taking lots of pictures of the entire progress. I already have a 'baby album' started for her with some pics in it. That's good enough for me! If I want documentation, I'll come here and copy and print all my gazillion posts!

How's you car running now with the new suspension? You guys got hammered w/ snow over the weekend (lucky rascal).

What exhaust did you go with? I know the SUs made a monumental difference over the Stromberg.

Need to work on Emma's suspension a bit. New front shocks for sure, they're leaking.
 
I went with the Ansa performance exhaust,..sounds great,..looks cool /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

And he replaced every part of the front and rear suspensions,...looks amazing.

So all of my major work is finally done,..I'm poor,..but it's a good poor :p
 
Ahh Jerry, you're far from poor. The joy our cars give us makes us rich beyond belief. I'm quite certain the guy driving the $200,000 Aston Martin doesn't drive that car grinning like we do and he doesn't get the rush we do.

So when you starting a new project? I'm thinking a RHD GT in matching blue.

Around here, Jaynel, it costs about $200-$300 to put a car in that shape.

Yea, the surface rust starts immediatly. It should get primed as soon as possible. I'm sure they will have to sand the whole car before they prime it anyway, so it's not a really big deal. But I would be priming the insides as soon as I had all the sand cleaned out.
 
Now THAT'S sexy. Rust never sleeps... but the shop fellas know that. I see Bondo, too. Izzat from yesterday or yesteryear?
