This is sad news. Neil Diamond has cancelled upcoming tour dates and is retiring from concerts after diagnosis of Parkinson's disease.

Sad news indeed. I got to see him perform in Greenwich Village back in the late 60’s.

So sad for any human to suffer this. I have many friends who have traveled to see him multiple times. I never went to see him in person myself, but even the old men's chorus I used to sing in did "Sweet Caroline".

This news reminds me of the power of recordings - how many artists have we lost before the invention of the LP that were equally amazing to today's greats?

"Cherry Cherry" was one of my favorite songs as a kid, still gets my feet to tapping when I hear it. Was sad to hear this on the news a couple days ago.
