MGB Need turn signal help

Scratching my head on this one. Turn signals worked properly before my engine rebuild and now they flash rapidly. The hazard lights still flash at the normal rate, just the turn signals are rapid. The indicator lights on the dash along with all 4 lights flash are affected...any ideas?
Thanks, Rut

You've checked grounds and connections? All bulbs are good?

Could easily have nothing to do with the engine-out you've done. Flasher unit could have gone south as well.

Did you install a new flasher? Sometimes a replacement flasher unit will do that as they are made for light duty and heavy duty, as in large trucks. Just sayin. PJ

I think I've narrowed it down to the work I did on the WW motor since the relay is next to it. The local auto parts stores have an Extra Loud relay that may just be the ticket!
Thanks, Rut

Went out to pull the relay and now the battery cutoff switch is acting wonky. I re routed my ground wire from the battery yesterday since I did a poor job on the original installation and might have over torqued the nut on the back of the switch. Looks like my relay project just expanded!
Thanks, Rut

Put in a new flasher relay and all is well. I also bought a new 300 amp cutoff switch to install later as well as some contact cleaner for a variety of electrical parts.
Life is good, Rut

:encouragement: Just saw this and was going to recommend what you just did. Clean all your grounds. They're pretty old and all electrics work better with good grounds. IE ALL you electrics including all your running lights and dash lights.

Arm straight out ~right turn. Arm bent at the elbow ~left turn.Problem solved

I do that whether the turn signals are working or not, but arm straight out is left turn and arm bent at elbow and facing up is right turn...LHD car! I want to get everybody's attention when I'm on the road.
Rut

Oops. Bad memory about the arm signals. I remember when they came out with a mechanical arm thingey you could attach to your car so you didn't have to use your arm. that was long before electric signals

Trafficator!!
