So I'm trying to see if I fit better in the spitfire or the midget. I've tracked down 2 locals with midgets but they have welded the seat in a close position.( scca) btw 6'4" 250

Midgets are small (Surprise!).

You need to check out a Spitfire!

I have trouble in a Midget and TR6. At 6'2" I had no problem in a Spitfire 4 or 1500 or a Gt6. I changed a clutch in a Midget for a friend and could not test drive it, just could not get legs in. Even the bigger TR6 gave no room for knees to get under wheel. I owned 2 Spits and had the GT6 for 10 yrs. (Was wife's daily driver).

I am looking towards the spit 1500. I was thinking about a smaller diameter steering wheel. Do you think that will help a little height wise? This will be my first restoration and I read the spit is a great car to cut my teeth on.
