MGB Need MGB LE for Show Display in Virginia 9-20-09

This year at our annual car show in Richmond the featured marque is MG. We have 60 MGs registered for the show, 300 European cars in all. For our special MG display showing the marque's progression over the years, we have one of everything we need except an MGB LE. I think these are all 1980 cars (but I could be wrong). Does anyone here have one or know of one that could be in Richmond, Virginia September 20th for the day? Car doesn't need to be concours by any means, but should be presentable of course. Send me a PM if you can help. At this juncture ballots are printed so the entry fee would be waived and the car would be "Display Only" on the show field and the people in the car get in the show free.

I learned yesterday that we have 2 1964 Ferrari 250 Lusso in the show! and several more equally rare Ferraris. That is $1.2 million car folks!

Not all 1980 MGBs were Limited Edition cars. North American spec LEs were Black with a Silver LE stripe, special wheels, special steering wheel, LE plaque on dash, etc.

Should not be that hard to find one in your area.

Thanks Rick. My post wasn't clear. Not all 1980s were LEs but I think all LEs were 1980 models in North America.

You would think with 60 MGs in a show at least one would be an LE, but we don't have one, yet.

I'm curious what you have in the way of showing the progression of MG's through the years.....do you have one of MG's most prolific cars?

Actually, no...the North American spec MGB LE was marketed in both 1979 and 1980.

Some "limited edition", eh?

That's what I'm curious about..

Some of what the show chairman has lined up is a surprise, but undoubtedly he does not have literally one of everything MG ever made. My post said "we have one of everything we need (italics added) except for an MGB LE" for this particular display.

The guys down in Tidewater MG Classics Club have some members with LEs and are trying to help us out.

Sixty MGs are registered for the show. Three hundred, two total cars (and one motorcycle) are registered for the show.
