Well I finally looked at the seats from the Mk 2 Spitfire I am restoring. They didn't seem bad 4 years ago when I put them up in my garage. And I was right, they aren't bad, they're terrible. I might be able to salvage one, but the drivers seat back was actually crushed down! Some of the vinyl was actually caught between the crushed down metal. The runners, surprisingly look ok. Anyway if anyone knows of any early Spitfire (Spitfire 4 or Mk 2) seats available in the San Francisco/NorCal area if you can clue me in I'd appreciate it. I am going to recover them, so as long as the basic seat frame is not rusted out I can use them. Thanks.

A couple of months ago I was at British Miles, and Tom showed me a couple of restored Spit seats, ready to go.... restored frames, new foams, new upholstery - I think they were in the $400 range. contact info is at Britishmiles.com
