I have a set of 4 Dunlop (165/R15) installed on my Healey by the great folks that did the restoration, but I need a 5th matching tire for the spare. I don't really want to go back to the restoration folks, so I can start doing it on my own. I can't find any on the internet, tried Coker and everywhere google would take me. Any ideas?

thanks,
Rob

Try Longstone Tyres.

Rob,

Please let us know if Longstone comes through with the tires you need. When I first read your email I checked their website - I have bought from them before, but for a different British car - and couldn't find the tire you need so I didn't recommend them. If they have what you're looking for, they make it hard to find on their website.

I visited the Longstone website after your suggestion (thanks). They do have some 165/r15s which are hard to find, but I didn't find a Dunlop. Dunlop isn't all that important since it is a spare (the others are Dunlop). So I may pursue it at Longstone. I guess I owe it to go back to the guys that restored it, and see where they got the ones I have. BTW, Steve - it is a BN-4, so I don't need to worry about fitting it in that compartment. They fit in the trunk space nicely (as if there was ever alot of room in our BN4 trunks!

I bought 5 of these for my BN2:

IIRC, when I bought them--6 or 7 years ago--they were under $50/ea; I think they're about your only option in that size. I haven't put a lot of miles on them, but have no complaints for a low-miles/year car (handling is good). BTW, the Walmart people were exceptional; I arrived early and the tire shop opened and helped me load them, and the 'online sales' manager opened up his register to take payment, early. And, yeah, they won't fit in the spare's slot without some, er, persuasion.
