I have a workshop manual, but any advice on how best to remove the rack would be appreciated. Are they any secrets or issues I should know? Many thanks!

No issues. No different than any other rack. Three bolts off the steering column U joint, pop out the tie rod ends, remove the 4 mounting bolts and your good to go. You might have to undo the ball sockets on the end of the tie rods if the car is together, to get the rack out of the chassis. PJ

Thanks! I guess I was wondering too what all I need I need to remove just to be able to remove the rack (e.g., radiator), considering the car is completeley together. If there is anything major like that, then any other thougths would be great. Thanks

Tom, You just hit me with a question that I'm not sure of, will the radiator need to be moved? I think the three ears on the steering shaft coming out of the rack will pass under the radiator. Now you have me thinking. Here's the one on my TF and I think the shaft will come out without moving the radiator. The wiring harness and horns, if you have them, will have to be removed though and as stated before, you'll probably have to undo the ball sockets on the tie rods to slide the rack out of the frame. (Oily mess)! PJ
