TR6 Need a slower rack and pinion for my 69 TR6

Are there any rack and pinnions that have slower turning that will work in a TR6? I drag race my car and the car is getting a little spooky at hi speeds (135MPH) and I plan to go even faster so I need to do something.
Thanks Ed

Just out of curiousity... what engine are you using?

As for yur steering, do you know if the rack is original? Some have substituted a quick ratio rack -- at 135 mph that would be (as you say) spooky.

Holy shnikies!!!! You got any pics on the web anywhere?

TRED: Look at the racks out of the Triumph 2000 Sedan. These were used in the TVR 2500M and have a slower ratio than the TR6 rack. Some TVR owners have swapped the TR6 racks into their TVRs, so the reverse should be possible. I know you need to use the TR6 inner tie rod ends (since the TVR guys have to swap in their 2000 joints). The only problem may be finding a LHD Triumph 2000 steering rack. Rimmer Brothers sells it without the "track rod ends" (not sure if they mean inner or outer) here. Just remember that the 2000 & 2500M have a wider wheel track than the TR6, so you do have to swap the inners rod ends, and possibly some more work.
