Need 185/70/15 Tire Info

Anyone have a source for a 185/70/15? I need a set of tires to mount on a set of 5.5 minilites for an MGA that I am restoring. Any other suggestions for sizes? Want to insure that the tire does not rub when turning in a tight radius.

I don't know if you can get them in the US, but I would strongly recommend Avon zz's. They do 185 70 15 in hard and soft compounds. The soft is really only for wet track work. They look quite old fashioned, and not oversized but my they grip and handle on a big Healy. I'm sure with the reputation of an MG A they should do the same. Avon have a good web site that should give you exact dimensions or maybe answer your querie directly.

raysmith, i bought five 185-70-15 tires for my 1963 bj7 not the make your looking for but if you plan to use one for a spare its a good idea to see if it will fit into your boot or any other place you may carry a spare i have a hard time getting mine to fit in my boot. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

So get a VW 165 X 15 tyre to use as a spare. After all its just a spare and it fit in the boot. Komo makes an 185 X 70 x 15 tyre also.--Fwiw--Keoke- /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Yea, we use to do snow dances here but now we just wash our cars.. But it you buy a new snow blower or skis it stops. I did get to go for my third Healey drive yesterday cause the ground was dry. Got to be careful cause they cannot see me behind the berms. I should put a flag on the antena.

Since the snow began to fly, yes. Sad, huh? We usually have 40 to 60 inches on either side of the roads. They constantly are melting and making the roads wet with some kind of salt or volcanic pumis for traction. So I choose my winter days.
