Did any of you read the latest Thoroughbred & Classic Car issue? [September 2004]

There is a fantastic article about a very neat BMW 2002 prototype produced by the coachbuilder Frua in 1969, it looks fantastic! The article says that Frua built this car to show to BMW for potential mass-production, it was built over top the basic BMW chassis with no extra tweaks, unfortunately BMW turned him down... crying shame as it's a gorgeous car (pictures enclosed)

Looks like a German 280Z. And that's not a bad thing.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif That's it! I knew that the car reminded me of another but I could not for the life of me figure out what that was...........It was the Audi, good spot there. Another beautiful car!

Hmmm... Never thought of the Audi 100S coupe in relation to this BMW prototype. [Incidentally... a gorgeous car I've only seen in pictures, all they sold here was the 100S sedan...]

The car that did get mentioned up in relation to this prototype was the coupe Frua designed for the German car company called Glas (picture below), the same Glas that was taken over by BMW in about 1967, so there is some sort of relationship possibly.
