Every year..this being the fourth in a row..I go on a Mission trip to a Navajo Pueblo here in northern New Mexico. The church I go with is Sugarloaf UMC out of Atlanta and this year I was thrilled to find my oldest grandchild..and only boy of the bunch, requested to go. He's 11 going on 21, very involved here in Parkland Baptist. Besides donations that are still being delivered to my shop, we have a wheelchair equipped van I installed a new engine in and did everything to make a Navajo quad named Nelson very happy. I have by Chevy ext cab longbed truck and an 18 ft. car trailer that will be bursting with not only donations but tools and supplies like lumber, roofing materials, nails, screws, glue paint etc. I'm even trying to find a box truck at a reasonable price..got a ton of stuff. This will make it necessary to get a driver and another vehicle or some creative ideas...anyhow..if anyone would like to see what we do, google Pintado Pueblo Mission trip. it sure opens your eyes...and your heart.

Sure sounds like a worthy cause. Congrats on your grandson too!

That time again?
You're a stellar individual Jack

The thing I regret most is in not getting involved sooner. We prepare all year, try to educate people we meet that not all Native Americans have casinos and money to burn. When you finally reach this Pueblo, the first thing you notice is what they have. Brand new schools. That's about it. What they don't have is about everything else. No stores, gas, no anything that all the rest of us take for granted. When the children go to school, many stay the week in dorms as they live so far away they can't go home. Things taught in school include how to correctly wire your house..many of which are traditional hogan dwellings. We've brought to many of these
proud people the basic utilities that we all take for granted. I'm not stellar but you are right..its that time of year again. Plz check out Pintado Pueblo Mission trip. THX!!!

Jack
Our church just returned a group that went to Rehoboth NM. I have heard that there is a great problem in Northern Arizona with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. At a recent veterinary conference I heard a talk presented by Bayer medical about there new flea collar that they have used in Arizona with the CDC to great success to treat the local canine population and greatly reduce the spread to people. While you are there will you check into this problem and if it exists in that area? I have a contact with the Company and they are willing to donate product to combat this deadly problem.
Regards
Paul
