Had a good time at the NASA event at Pocono on May30-June 1.
I ran the Escort in the Saturday and Sunday sprint races. Other than a fried fan belt (an easy fix) the car ran great.
My re-set 3/32" of toe-out made a huge improvement in handling and tire wear is reduced to boot.
There's an in-car video link at the bottom of all of this:

You can always tell there's something "going on" as you get nearer to the track.

I stopped at a convience store about 2 miles from the track to get gas and snacks. A nice, 60-something, School-Marm-ish lady walks out of the store. She is wearing a handknit sweater and a Very Sensible Sunhat. She looks like Everybodie's Favourite Unmarried Aunt. She hops into the driver's seat of a new-ish 6-speed Corvette (with numbers on the door) and chirps the tires in the first two gears as she heads towards the track.
After she leaves an Elise takes her parking space.
As I am leaving, I see an ~Audi R8~ pull in. The driver looks like a young college kid. I am wondering how he can afford to thrash a $110,000 car at a track day? Is he a bank robber? Or a jewel thief?

Here's some British stuff (or at least quasi-British) that I saw while at this NASA event.

An Ariel Atom

Here's a 20 second clip of Corey's BMW spinning out in front of me. As he was going almost backwards, I passed him and you can hear my car getting pelted with the stones that he has kicked up.
What you can't see is the two Miatas spinning behind me trying to miss him.
One clipped Corey in the corner and damaged his fuel cell. He and his brother drove home to L.I. and brought back a stock fuel tank that they swapped in the next morning.

Was the Ariel Atom there for a demo or did it run laps at speed? It appears to be an amazing car, I watched a review of it on Top Gear.

The Atom ran laps in one of the HPDE groups....it wasn't there for show.

For a while, there was an instructor and a student in it.

It zipped throught he twisty infield section!

Awesome, I was afraid that it was part of the Ariel Atom Experience. BTW, great vids, thanks for posting them...
