Is there a NAPA equivalent for the upper radiator hose on the BJ8? Even if it has to be cut down, it would be handy to have.
Anyone ever post a list of NAPA equivalents for Healey parts? Fan belts, flashers, filters, thermostats have been mentioned .
 
Can’t help with any part numbers, but this sounds like a good article for the Wiki. If we get some info, I can load it in there.

Well sometimes you need the part right away and you don't want to pay shipping for a single item.
 
We do need to support our suppliers. I do and am amazed by what can be bought for a Healey. When on a trip though, it is nice to know of an equivalent. Nor does the spare in the trunk need to be an original. And there is Hobbs Choice: Do you take a chance and put it back on so you can drive tomorrow, wait a few days, take the spare if you have one and drive without a spare for awhile, or buy local?
 
Original?

Some original are so much rubbish, in my mind. I worked at aparts store that we carried two lines of hoses(we were a Bap/Geon store, anyone remember them?) for Brits. Our driver was a Triumph Herald with the flip up side indicators..

John Bull hoses would crack and rot sitting on the shelf. Forget the name of the other manufacturer, just remember that they had the TRF desired "greenstripe" and would get HARD sitting on the shelf...

So original? Not always. Best is better, in my mind, I don't care where it comes from. You guys can polish and concourse, I drive, and drive and drive.
 
Take the old hose with you and match it up. I assume top hose.
