One of the panels in the footwell was coming loose, so I pulled it out to reinstall yesterday. Inside, I find this part, just laying there. I don't have a clue what it's for or where it goes. Judging from the work that the PO did, it could be from just about anywhere. I'm sure that somebody here knows where it goes, so I'd appreciate it if you could give me a clue.

shg, what ever ya do dont drive your car!!!! without that piece properly installed the entire car will go flying to pieces!!!! your gunna need a specialist to put that back in, and yes i do know what it is but i dont think the forum would like me to tell you where i think it should go. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

That is a glove box liner steady bracket. The bracket fastens with two screws through the bottom of the glove box liner and into the scuttle box bulkhead.

Now that makes perfect sense. Thanks.

I knew Anthony of the 7777s did NOT have the Answer. After all, the screw holes were too small. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Just reinstalled it and of course, that's the part! Thanks again.

Right you are Anthony of the 7777's. Good thing Scott just happens to be a specialist and a real swell guy too.
Cheers, r

Guess I was too slow with the camera. It IS Saturday after all.

P.S. At least the PO didn't throw the part out.

Hey 7777s, I did find a spanner in the exhaust when I change to the ss. It was rusty. But your right, if I tear everything out, who knows what I could find.

shg, sounds as if the po. had a bad case of "ulkinhymers" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif your po. also owned a boat hed go down to his dock every weekend just at high tied and every weekend hed report his boat stolen one weekend he got up late got to the dock at low tied and there it was, first time he launched it he "forgot" to put in the bilge plug, his wife years later discovered it in her jewelry box. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Scott -

That's an easy one... that's the bracket to hold the back of the BJ8 Glovebox to the heater duct box beam...
