Name this part - I am stumped!

Not saying it is the case here but imagine that some perverse owner of your car attached some bogus part such as this to stump some future owner....

I think someone dropped it your car to confound you. I bought a '62 Jag years ago out of Chicago that had originally been purchased by someone living on Lake Shore Blvd. in Gary, Indiana. Had the actual buyer's name and address in the papers. I found a Gary subway token on the floor while replacing the original carpet. At least I was able to identify it as a subway token because I was an editor at Coin World in an earlier life and learned that people who actually collect these kind of tokens were called vecturists. No, it's not in my dictionaries. Don't spoil this car-find story by telling me Gary never had a subway. In that case perhaps it was just a transit token. No, I can't find the unidentified part either, but with Healeys you never know!

When I bought my Elva MK IV sports racer there was a 5/16" hole in the sheet metal that supports the windscreen, perhaps once used by a PO to mount a camera or transponder. I could not find a practical use for the hole so I decided to repurpose it as shown in the attached photo. Whenever someone asks me what might happen were the button to be pushed I answer in an ominous tone that I just don't know....
