Other than the drivetrain, looks like a 1936 Vauxhall to me.

Nope - but you got the year right (nice checking the license plate :jester: )
 
The two parallel bars down the side bonnet pieces always was a spotting feature for me and Vauxhalls.
 
South African or Australian rhd Ford (the "4D" on the tags gives it away).

And yes, probably a Pilot.
 
I figured the 4D was for 40.
Never 'curd to me, Ford. Cool

:winner1: V8 Pilot (originally a flathead) guy immigrated from England 2 years ago and brought it with him, having built it there, very cool and unique - was also his first experience with a North American cruise nite - he was gobsmacked - also interesting because he expected the cars to be parked "in clubs"

More or less what I was going to say! "California Dreaming" was a very famous show car in UK, but I thought it had left its native shores many years ago heading for the USA. Unless... this is a tribute car to the original? It's a beauty anyway, I've always liked the look of these.

If you've read any of the "Biggles" stories (google the name if not), specifically the ones set <span style="font-style: italic">after</span> WW2, you'll find our hero drives... a Ford Pilot!
