Ebay This ebay seller has 3 what look like LBC frames for sale cheap. Might be helpful for someone in the Northeast.

"X" frames?!? I don't think so, Paul.

Doc
Looking at the frount dampers makes me think LBC. The frame in the middle looks like an MGA. They can be seen individually on the seller's other auctions.

Paul

Foreground MAY be an MGA... Plywood woulda been th' floorboards, th' upper A-frame members look to be Armstrong dampers. But an "X" frame may be a bit of a stretch.

I don't recall the chassis holes as MGA... The three in the middle.

...tho my ~mind~ ain't what it used to be.

Found it! 2 more to go!

When I saw this frame I thought for $15 bucks that could be made into a great looking "Special". AH sprite motor and transmission would just bolt on etc.............

Here how it was done in 1949 in Australia

You guys are great. My friend pulls up with this, this morning having just dragged it out of the woods, said it looked British and thought I might have a clue as to what it was. And, because of this thread, I knew what it was. Austin A40!

The one with the hoop might be T series MG They have a big hoop like that under the "scuttle" area.

Ben
That is great. What are his plans?

Well... its rough. He talked of everything from selling usable parts to finding a fiberglass kit, to building a doodlebug. He just said he didn't want to see it cut up for scrap (I'm not sure it's worth much more, but I commend his ambition)
If nothing else, it's the same rear axle as a BN1 Healey, and I believe the front suspension is shared as well. He may find someone who needs that stuff.
I told him it'd make a really neat chassis for a rat-rod.
I just though it was a really funny coincidence that this frame showed up not long after that thread. If it had showed up before that I would not have had a clue what it was.(Other than "British")
