Name that mount!

OK.....I finally got around to pulling the engine & trans to replace the clutch on my Bugeye. That went surprisingly smooth, but now I found some parts that need replacing before I put it all back together. Amongst these parts are the motor mounts.....one is busted in half and the other is about to give up the ghost. Here's the rub......the engine is a 1982 Datsun A15 (from a 210) and I have no idea if the mounts are Spridget or Datsun or something completely different. I looked through the VB & Moss catalogs and one sort of looks right, but I can't tell for sure. I am hoping someone here can at least tell me if it is or isn't a Spridget part so I can start narrowing things down.

I haven't driven the Bugeye in almost 2 months now and it's driving me nuts! Please help!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Those look like Sprite transmission mounts. Mo$$ P/N 413-170.

Thanks. That's what they looked like to me too, but I just needed some confirmation (the illustration in the Moss catalog wasn't very clear).

I guess I'll order them and see what happens (hopefully they are the same).

I just got my new mounts today from VB. They are indeed the tranny mounts from the Spridget. With any luck, I should have the Bugeye up and running this weekend! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Ohhhh, pics?

Oh boy, Miss Agatha has another friend. We going to have to have a special class for Old English White Bugeyes at the shows.

I noticed that your bumper was overriderless. I have a couple of front bumper overriders for a Bugeye that I'm getting ready to post on ebay. Good condition for a daily driver. Some road scuffs on the bottoms. Any interest before I post them?

Jack,

My BE is more of a bright white than OEW, but when I repaint it, I may go back to the original color. I do like the white with the red interior though.....it has grown on me.

Ray,

I actually have two brand new (repro's, I think) overriders. I just like the looks of it without them. Thanks for the offer though.

I see you have put vinyl on the cockpit suround as well.

Yep....it came that way when I bought it. It needs to be redone.....the red has faded in some spots (looks pink!) and it got a little torn up where the sidecurtains mount.

Polish em real good except for the one over the dash.

Yeah.....I had planned on doing that when I re-painted it. The repaint is probably a year or more away, so it'll have to wait for now. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

This is a winter job inside. Just pull em ahead of the first snow.
