NAILS!!!

mmmm... nope... I don't wanna be sitting on the floor again. Plus I'd like to move with the seat if I decide i want to be a different distance from the controls /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

Then you gotta get access to an "electric knife" to slice the foam. The kind whut can slice ham. They will allow you to "trim" the foam VERY accurately.

...just a word in yer ear...

power tools???

hmmmmmm... I ~think~ my quack might allow that... i'll hafta check first though /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Yer on yer own now. Jus' don' EVER use the turkey baster to lower th' brake MC fluid level without "clearance." /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

the hot wire... I thought about that, but since it'd only be used once or twice I'm not sure it's worth the expense...

A hedge trimmer on the other hand... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Speaking of wires.....that would have been interesting, too, had one of those nails gone through a battery cable or fuel/brake line!

Amen to that. I just did a pair of Spitfire foams/squabs and stole my bride's electric Cuisinart ham-knife. It was a lifesaver...

"Honey ... have you seen my knife?" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/angel.gif

I'm not a fan of the black check but they do look like they are made well and fit just fine.

Thanks, Jack.

Spit seats are a pain, unlike an MGB where the bottom is one hunk of solid foam, the Spit bottoms need to be "built up" from seveal pieces of foam (glued together). The rear of the foam sandwich is then carved to get the cover to fit correctly.

And I love the houndstooth; it reminds me of one particular (short) skirt my wife used to wear when we were still dating. She still has it and still fits into it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Oh yea, we needed to know that, lol.

Hehehehe, we like pics.

Yeah, Scott. Post proof or retract!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Weeeee!

I chopped down the drivers' butt foam today. While I was at it, I ditched the wood planks too. I'm sitting at a much more acceptable level in the car. I'm no longer crowning myself on the hardtop when I adjust my seat to my normal position, and I've got good line of sight out the windshield again! yay!

I only did the driver's seat partially because I was too lazy to yank the passenger seat too. Besides, if I leave the passenger seat as is, I can use it as a gauge for whether or not that passenger should be in my car. If they don't fit, they don't belong in the car; that and I can open the glove box and show 'em the OEM sticker about load carrying capacity... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif
