Mystery spots in horn covers!

I have four horns to refurbish. I was just looking at the inside of the covers and all four of them have a spot that is paintless. Varying sizes. Attached picture shows a large and small one. What do you suppose caused it? Manufacturing process, painting process? If they dip painted them that might be caused by the hanging device.

Curious Eh?

Dunno, Dick - sure look similar to crop circles to me... must'a been aliens! :jester:

Yeah there's always that too! heh

So perfectly round and varying in size leads me to think that it may be an air buble because they the did not stay in paint long enough to allow all of the air to sneak out through the hole.
