Mystery Guage

I have a gold faced Smiths water temp. and oil pressure guage that has a female thead for closure rather than the standard male threaded closure. The guage number is GD 1502/00. Does anyone know what vehicle it fits?

I believe it is the correct gauge for a 100-6 or early 3000 but you are probably missing the adapter fitting that has a double male thread, one side connects with the gauge's female side, and the other screws into the engine. Unfortunately, unless the adapter is still screwed into the engine, next to the thermostat, these adapters are difficult to find.

That would make sence, as I believe it was used as an oil temperature guage in the oil drain.

The original guage for my BN6L-942 had a female thread on the water temp bulb; it attached to a male threaded bung on the underside of the radiator's top tank (not the cylinder head as on 3000s).

I don't need the adapter although it would be nice to have just in case I decide to use it or sell it.

I found one at a British Car mechanic's shop. He had one laying around. I will contact them and see if they have another one. They are rare, so LBC mechanics who have been around a while might be your best bet.
