MGB Mystery fastener from '66. Did I miss something?

I found this on the floor and I'm pretty sure it's from the MGB. I've been working on the brakes and the carbs. Then again, it could be from another project. Any ideas? I don't want to have any missing fasteners.

Doesn't look like any MGB fastener I'm familiar with.
 
I agree with Doc, I've had three MGBs, one a ground-up restoration, and never saw a fitting like that. It does appear old though. It looks like a female grub screw.? PJ
 
On seeing the first shot I thought: "Dzus" fastener (battery cover). But not with a shoulder at both ends. Looks like something missing in the middle. Plenty of MGB/MGA/MG-T series restorations here and never seen that fastener on/in one.

Mystery bit. Hope someone can shed some light on it!
 
My ancient eyes can't tell ... is the *interior* threaded?
 
It is indeed threaded on the inside. I'll just assume Santa's elves left it there when they took away the clevis pin from the parking brake that has suddenly disappeared from the garage. ;)
