... I started with a measurement of the overall demensions for the blank. Then made it thick enough so the I could carve the face down to leave the ribs/ design.
Very crafty. This would also be a great project for someone with access to a 3D printer.
On another forum, another car, many small plastic bits that are NLA are being recreated on 3D printers. I haven't done this myself but have seen the photos of the results and see that it works well for some parts.
