TR6 Mysterious rubber hose

Whilst trying to work on the driver side rear suspension as documented elsewhere, I noticed for the first time a small rubber hose in the vicinity of the gas tank. The end was free as if it once attached somewhere. The only thing I could think of was a drain hose for the trunk but I don't recall seeing an outlet there the last time I had the spare out. Any idea what this could be? In another matter, I switched the wiper arms. Who knew?

Is it from the tank vent?

...I switched the wiper arms. Who knew?

As I recall, the (LHD) TR4 and later models had the right wiper arm 'cranked' to clear the scuttle cowl vent when it opens. Later, when the opening vent was eliminated the wiper arms were not changed.

Could be what George said..the gas tank had a vent hose that eventually wound up connected to the Carbon Canister...well from 1970 to 76 they did.

I believe the 250 and 69 just vented at the fill cap.
Some people just cut the vent hose off short, I know the PO of my 73 did.
