Tomorrow I fly back to the igloo and warm up the dog team. As I leave, I think "why can't I stay forever"
Really, I say thanks to Dale and Wendy for being such good hosts. I also say thanks to the guys who supported us through this.(You know who you are).
I would like to say thanks to Basil for this excellent forum, and the group of members he has assembled. This has class and integrity all over it.
Mostly, I want you all to help me say thanks to my lovely wife, Annie. She has had to look after our two daughters and the household while I've been here. None of this would have happened without her. Thanks Annie
Thanks Dave

Dave, our hats off to you, you show all of us what it means to belong to a fraternity of the type we have. The BCF makes us all a brotherhood and it is a pleasure to be associated with members like you. A big HATS off to you!
Regards, Tinkerman

Talk about some international diplomacy. This is why I love this hobby, one for all & all for one.

Dave:

That was a great thing you did.

It's a shame that the web can be used; blamed for islolating people, my feeling is that more often than not, it connects people.

Long live BCF!

Dave,

I hope that we can all try emulate your example in the way that you've helped Dale & Wendy.

I thank your family for giving you up for a week to help out and if I can ever help you in any way, please email or call me. You do have both the address ad Dale can give you my cell. I'll go on record as letting you know that I'd be very upset if you didn't.

EDIT:

"Team BCF" has now officially completed it's first major project successfully. It couldn't have happened without every member of this forum who weighed in over the past six or seven months.

Respectfully,

Paul

I also think that a lot of us would be
willing to do the same thing,if we were
fotunate enough to be as talented as Dave.
But he was the one who actually followed
through.

Well done Dave -

Maybe you'll be interested in helping with a TR4 sometime? Sunny Houston is almost like Dale's location. Well its hot anyway!

And a big THANKS to all the other contributors too, though I admit I'll miss the daily dose of excitement.

Cheers

Randy

...and exceedingly WELL done!!

Praise for Annie, too!

"Team BCF"!!! It needs a: "Have Wrench, Will Travel" theme! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Dave -

Great work, and a fantastic example of the spirit that is prevalent on this board! Hey - if you take up the offer on Houston, fancy swinging by Austin as well?? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I do contend the Crypt Car project most probably
IS INDEED the first successful Team Effort antique
auto restoration conducted over the internet.

I thank you one and all and I will do my
best to help others with my new found TR auto
restoration knowledge.

"Team_Sprite" beat Crypty. Brian and the girls hit $23K+ for their effort.

Awsome Job Dave... I'm green with envy. Someday my situaion will allow for me to be the "runner" in such an effort. Until then I am glad to do what I can from my home base.

And they say this new internet thing is driving us further apart. Big thumbs up for the efforts of all involved.

Drew,

I really think that age and the maturity of the participants factor into the mix as well. Look at the demographics of this forum, compared to that of the Miata or Rice rocket forums and the order and decorum exhibited here is miles ahead of them. Even look at some of the Chevy and Ford forums. There are some that flame the most innocent of questions where we try to help everyone in a kind and considerate manner here.

"...order and decorum exhibited here..."?!?!?

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif

Okay, Rego... that's goin' a bit deep. Let's just leave our "decorums" outta this from now on, mmm'k? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Well, Drew as you can see, it applies in MOST cases on this forum. Not all,but most.....

Jeez....and Dr. Bill isn't even around to share his usual sarcasm and wit.

Nice hearin' from you again Doc....

Dale, I did nothing but offer support and enjoyed every moment of your long trip. I have probably spent more computer time on this forum just waiting for the next post. I Thank you because you make me believe that anything is possible if you hang in.
