My wife thought she was in Lamaze classes.........

When I said PUSH, she jammed my brakes when I was bleeding the lines. And she managed to blow out my master cylinder. So much for natural childbirth! Now I gotta take the dang thing out and rebuild it, and prolly the servo. I should'a known better. I remember our firstborn, 32 years ago, when Elaine almost jerked my belt off my waist, pushing so hard.

Look at it this way, Bill, she just did you a HUGE favor! It's MUCH better to have it fail on jackstands in the garage, than when doing an actual panic stop.

And it should be able to take all the force she (or you) can muster. That's what happens when you panic ...

You'd better double up on that order of roses for tomorrow!

Unless my watch has stopped, it's St. Valentine's day. Strictly no big deal; unless of course you have an SO or XYL. Or you'd like to have one someday.

..... or buy a motorhome,if you don't buy
the roses - you'll be living in it.
Don't ask me why I know this.

You are one lucky fella. Now any time you want to buy parts, find a way to relate it to her pumping the brakes and it looks like it is her fault you need them. Then you can buy whatever you want and not get in trouble.

Bill,. may not need to rebuild the servo. Good idea to pop it out and see how much brake fluid drains out. If minimal then the failure was instantaneous and catastrophic. If there is a lot, then it's been bleeding into the servo housing for a while and attacking the rubber.

But another thing to consider is how old the rubber diaphragm is and perhaps it would be a good idea to refresh it now while the master cylinder is out.

From the sounds of the other thread, I think that he did the right thing, all factors considered.

St. Valentine's day? That's today! I am in big trouble....

For the historians - there were two massacres on Valentine's Day. The one in Chicago and the one when I forgot.

Gentlemen, don't let what happened to me happen to you.

Flowers, chocolates and more.

Have a good day,

Cheers
