Hello @all,

I went the way to work on my Healey in small work packages. Painting the sills also at the inside before welding. Before welding I remove the paint in the welding areas. Today I paint the inner fenders with a roll. Yes ! with a special foam roll from 3M. The result in my opinion is perfect. See the pictures. The main advantiges are I can fill the small gaps between two panels with paint, and I can safe my bare metal areas for new rust. Also I do not spray my garage , my body and my lung and the rest of my car.
Clear the outer body will be done by a professional painter.

Your opinions are welcome.

That's how I did mine several years ago and I too didn't paint the inside of my lungs. I did actually sandblast the wheel wells though. I wish I had removed the paint differently.
