Just did the one side, judged by the condition of the plugs and the injectors that it didn't have a need to come off yet.... You ought to see the knuckle I sliced on the new headgasket... Just missed a big vein... Ouch.

Last weekend, was using a crowbar to remove bamboo from the neighbors yard since it was destroying our fence (grrr). Anyway, ended up slicing my thumb with the crowbar leaving a nice flap of skin but nothing that serious. After cleaning and bandaging, I tried to work on rebuilding the gearbox but the wound was always getting opened up and started bleeding again. Remembered that they use superglue as a stitch replacement in hospitals so whipped out the glue and gave it a good dose. Worked perfectly to seal the flap and letting it heal. After a few days the super glue peels off but the healing is well on it's way. Oh .. and it's good to have some super glue remover on hand just in case you stick your fingers together during the process! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

This morning I was removing the 1-1/2" nut under the engine of my Norton to see if the sump had any oil in it...was using channel locks because its hard to get to (I'm ging to buy a motorcycle jack from Harbor Freight!)...channel locks slipped off & pinched the 'you-know-what' out of my fingers!

Well, in doing this job, I've given myself 3 permanent scars.The last one when the head gasket got me... I didn't even know it until I pulled my hand out and it was covered in blood. The corner of that thing must be razor sharp.

Congrats on getting it back together Kenny. Can't remember how many injuries I've sustained working on cars, but I learned soon enough not to work under the car to bleed the clutch without safety goggles. Having brake fluid drip in your eye is not cool. Actually, for as much road grit and rust particles that fall off, I don't go under the car without safety goggles anymore.

In 1972 or '73 I learned that trying to be ~quick~ at swapping out a fuel pump on an MGB with a full tank is folly: chemical burns from wrists to armpits to gonads can be prevented with some forethought and a couple of cheap line clamps!

I got an eyefull of motor oil when I took out the radiator... 2 small hoses going to the bottom of the radiator apparently go to an internal tube type oil cooler... When I pulled the first hose is sprayed me good.

Yup. Those are the tranny cooler lines.
Aint AC lines fun doc? I love when they're right where you need to swing the wrench, and there's nothing you can do about it.
And if you go off the deep end, and wind up with a Hybrid someday, DON'T mess with the orange wires!

Happened Monday AM. Pal calls: Isuzu Rodeo tossed a waterpump/alternator belt on his way to work. NAPA, some tools in a bucket and had him limp back to the hovel so's we could replace the rest of the belts... AC line RIGHT where you need space to slack off the PS pump bolt(s). Really frustrating.

At least my AC lines weren't in the way on my toyota.. As a matter of fact, they seemed to be routed by someone who knew the engine would be worked on one day. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
