Hi Muchahita,
Welcome to the forum... you can venture oustide of the humor catagory you know! We don't bite... hard. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I know your car as a Hillman Avenger, we had one in England when I was growing up, we used to have a Renault 4, replaced that with a Hillman Imp and then replaced that with the Avenger... an Avenger estate followed that... then we got into Mini's! I remember the Avenger as being extremely comfortable and it had a lot of room.

Hi muchachita:

Here in the USA, your type of Sunbeam was sold by Chrylser under the name "Plymouth Cricket" in the 1970s (Chrysler owned the Sunbeam/Rootes Corporation back then).
I had a Cricket in '73. It was a decent little car and I once won an all-night rally in it (in the Novice class). Unfortunately, I eventually ran it into a stone bridge at speed and shortened it by about 20% /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
And RG is correct....you should probably post your stuff in the "Sunbeam" section instead of "Humor".
Anyway, welcome!

Hi RG......dangerous though it is to correct a lady, that there is a Hillman Hunter! The Avenger is below.

Steve beat me to it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I knew from his earlier description that it was what was called either the Hillman Hunter or Hillman New Minx over in England, and sold under various other names worldwide. In the United States as the Sunbeam Arrow, and I believe they were called Sunbeam Arrow's in other worldwide markets as well.

When I get Photobucket to work properly... I have a picture of a Sunbeam Arrow that currently resides right here in Calgary. I don't believe there are many of them left here in North America, and I don't think very many were actually sold as new cars in North America.

Picture of the one in Calgary here:

Correct me if I'm wrong but I have NEVER, once stated that I'm a lady! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

And you're right, it's a Hunter, but we still had one... I think I was about 7!! Thankyou for putting me right, one of my great failings is opening my mouth before my brain is in gear....

I will personally vouch for both of the above statements.

(Why do I have the feeling that I am going to pay dearly for this?)

You're probably the only one who gets to actually see RG in person regularly, the rest of us only get to interact in the virtual arena, have fun at the next race... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Sherlock, actually there are at least four of us here on the BCF who get to see RG on a regular basis.
And, now that she and her husband have expanded their horizons to places such as Mid-Ohio, Mosport, etc, I'm sure there are other people that get to experience her wisdom first hand! Trust me, she's really a sweetheart, and well versed on the subject of LBc's.
I just couldn't pass up the opportunity for a dig!!
