TR2/3/3A My own TR3 windshield question?

I'm in the process of my own windshield install and have a question about the glass. I just got it from one of the big three. Both of my old windshields were just about flat if you put a straight edge in the middle from top to bottom. My new one has a 1/4" curve to it if you lay a flat edge in the same place. You can see the curve. On the ends it is about the same as the old glass, very little curve. Anybody found the same thing with new windshield?

I know the glass should have a curve to it end to end, but the outside off the glass has a convex shape to it. The others had very little curve at all. It did go into the frame with no problem though. Also it seemed that the glass was a bit small. You had to center it in the frame. It did measure the same as the old glass. I wish it was about 3/16" larger on the bottom and the sides.

I took a peek at a NORS windshield, and didn't see any curve in the vertical direction. Seems like a good idea though, since I've seen them vibrate enough to break right through the middle. Some curve would add a lot of strength.

Randall it's strange you mention the crack in the middle. I have an old frame with glass that's cracked in the middle, and the glass is flat.

Keith,
My only advice is to NOT USE the rubber seal sold (either Moss or TRF) for the TR3! It is too thick and you will very likely crack the glass trying to put it in (from personal experience). I use the MGA rubber seal and it works very well. BTW British Victoria sells the glass cheaper than anyone. Good luck.
