i picked up an '85 MR2 at our local charity lot. White to match my two TR7's. The rumors of lotus's involvment in the MR2 development and the wedgie shape attracted me. I haven't taken it out for a spin yet, but soon.
I like these. Yhey seem like an X1/9 done well. I see them as a future classic.
Like most mid-engine cars, they can be "interesting" to drive at speed. We have three of them actively racing and they seem to be the "spin-out Kings" in our club.
Fast, reliable (and twitchy) cars.
funny you should mention "twitchy". One day after church I swapped cars with my friend who autocrosses his MR2 (with my TR7). That was my exact wording in describing his '85 MR2. We liked each other's cars, but perferred our own.
