Howdy all:

Just took delivery of my new BJ8 today! The wonderful folks at InterCity rolled one of their giant trucks down my quiet little DC street and unloaded my new 1966 BJ8. She woldn't start at first due to the cold snap, but with a little jump start from my Jeep and a few shots of quick start into the rear carb, she roared to life, and purred like a kitten at idle. Here she is sitting in the garage, all warm and snug. We've named her Bay. She's green, and hails from Wisconsin, so it seemed like a natural choice. Plus, my girlfriend and I spend the long weekend on the Chesapeake, so Bay it is.

She's rock solid and really pretty. Can't wait for warmer weather!!

Are your feet doin' a happy dance? Looks like all Bay needs are some plates and a little air in the tires. Congrats!

Niiiice!
I see you name all your cars. I do too. They, both, are named...she and she's.

She's a nice car.
She sure is a nice car.

Congrats!

I always name my vehicles - assuming they have some suitable character. My Ducati was called Daisy (Daisy Duc) and the BJ8 is called Ruby (Colorado Red).

Looks fantastic mate. Congratulations!

Is that BRG? Looks lovely.

Thanks guys! I am *thrilled*.

I always name them. Greenie was named by accident. I was looking at two different TR-250s, one was green and the other blue, and I simply started referring them as Greenie and Blue. Bought Greenie. Max was named after Maxwell Smart (who drove a Tiger). Abby because she was built in Abbingdon. Peppermint Patty because we found her in York, PA.

She is indeed BRG, but with metallic flake. I'm thinking about painting her sides white. I always liked BRG and white together! She needs a good compounding/buffing and then she'll be just right!

I've named my cars too:
The Healey is called "- "D..n It!
The Jag is called "- "Not Again!

Cheers and enjoy

Boy, I must be a real slowhead. I call mine "the Healey". There also is "the Benz" and "the Subi" (Subaru Outback).

I do have a clever name for our dog, but "the wife" named her.

What ever her (his) name, welcome and enjoy the ride!
