My latest excursion

As some of you know, Last month we went to Colorado {Mesa Verde National Park}. August 7th Thru the 13th I went to PineTop Arizona,{White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation}. While there I went to a Bluegrass music festival {my main purpose in going}, super good music and some very very fine, string instrument pickers {you have to enjoy Bluegrass music to appreciate the artistry}. On the way down to PineTop we stopped at Newspaper Rock Petroglyph {Just a short distance North of Monticello Utah}. We also went to historic Fort Apache for some early west Arizona history education. While at Fort Apache I learned of some ancient Indian ruins on Apache Land named Kinishba. Built and occupied by Hopi and Zuni Pueblo Indians as early as A.D.800 and occupied into the 1400s with as many as 800 occupants and as little as 400 at various times. Somehow I find these types of places an almost religious experience. I guess that is why I like going to see and experience different Indian ruins. But probably not every ones cuppa tea I suppose. On the way home we stopped at Arizona Meteor Crater {one huge hole in the ground to say the least} and then on to the Grand Canyon {an even bigger {longer, deeper} hole in the ground} Yes you guessed it, while at the Canyon ... more Indian ruins along with viewing the canyon itself. Once home, on the 14th of august we loaded up the motor home and went for a ten day trip to our timeshare at East Canyon Resort Utah and my family reunion. so all in all, this summer I have not been home for more than two weeks at a time and spent enough money to completely re do the interior of my Tr-3, Top Tonneau, Hood Stick cover and all. Needless to say it didnt get done again this year!
I have pics such as they are! Although I have not posted them yet I will in the near future, When I do I will share the link with everyone for your viewing pleasure {or not}.
*SIGH* .... it is good to be home for a change!
But .... going again in Sept .... "Pickin in the Pines" {Another Bluegrass Festival} .... Flagstaff Arizona Sept 18, 19, 20,. See you there {or not}

Kerry,
As a picker and performer at bluegrass festivals and other B.G. venues,(bgbassplyr = bluegrassbassplayer), let me be the first to thank you for your support and the first to wish you a Merry Christmas.

Jim

Looking forward to the pics, Kerry. Your trip took you to some of my favorite places.

I'm also a fan (and player) of bluegrass. Good stuff, and the festivals are always fun.

Did someone say bluegrass? I love it!

I dislike most modern country music, but have a real enjoyment of the bluegrass music (which apparently falls under the country music genre).

Sounds like you had a great trip...

Re: My latest excursion {Photos added}

Here are the photos of my latest excursion.
First off, Let me apologize for the lack of quality {as stated before im no photographer} especially on the Grand Canyon pictures. The day was not clear at all {overcast and a lot of junk in the air} or maybe it was operator error. In any case here are the photos as promised such as they are.
