My interesting car day

So, first off, the weather has finally got above 70 deg - hurray! Was dropping off some stuff today and was passed by an Iltis Jeep - former Canadian Military - then, was driving through town - to get cupcakes - my daughter's birthday - stopped at a car store to check something and as I walked out, there at the garage next door was a Renault Caravelle with a for sale sign on it - $9999 firm. Even the garage owner was skeptical about the price but apparently the owner paid 15k for it and his wife was ready to kill him - it wasn't in that good a shape though I think it is the first one I have ever seen. They are a pretty car though. In the course of chatting with the garage owner, he mentioned that the shop he owned used to be an MG shop and that last year he finally got rid of all the extra fenders and new engine blocks hanging around the basement :cryin: Then, as I was going home, I watched as this pickup truck came up to an intersection from the right - looked like he was towing a small farm wagon frame - four wheels. Turned out to be a gorgeous newly restored VW frame - wheels no engine yet. and of course there is still the TR4 sitting outside with no front windshield or roof - just like it spent the window - I love spring!

French.

's all I'm sayin'.

Yeah, but yon "Smilie" says all you need to say!

~Still think it's a pretty car...~

Sounds like a good day...

Now that the Canadian gov't is starting to sell off the Iltis jeep's, they have become somewhat collectible amongst the military vehicle collectors, fairly recently I saw one in the parking lot of my local grocery store...

That Caravelle? I've never seen one before, however $10K is way too much money unless it's in mint condition
