:iagree: Most thoughtful Basil! My sincere condolences to Dave's family. He will certainly be missed by his "extended family" here on the Forum!

Dave was a genuinely nice guy, and he shall be greatly missed by many. My condolences to his family, and to his many friends. A sad loss to the forum, and to the hobby as a whole.

Godspeed, Dave. :cry:

My condolences to Marlene and family.

A great and irreplaceable man leaves our presence.

God now has his mechanic!

Thanks David, for showing us the way.

Dave and family :angel:

I just discovered that Marlene had called yesterday and left a voice message about Dave. It's hard the believe that it was over 6 years ago that Dave joined BCF! In fact, looking at his profile I realized that he joined at 2PM on my birthday (2 August). It didn't take Dave long to establish himself here and I'm sure everyone who knew him, either through the forum or in person, will miss him greatly.

Sad indeed! To loose a fellow B.C.F. er that everyone that even remotely had contact with him, personally or through this forum had such high regard for. He will be surly missed by all.
My sincere condolences to his family. May God bless you and be with you always.

Note: please see my post in "Forum Happenings" if you would like to post condolences that will be sent on behalf of all BCFers.

For Dave:

"Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die."
by Mary Elizabeth Frye

I cannot find the exact quote but it is something like this:

Do not cry because he is gone, smile because he lived and we knew him.

That's nice - you should post that in the "official" thread in the Forum Happenings, so it will get sent to his family.

Nothing to add but a sadness.

Saw the news shortly after Basil posted, just sat and thought about it. <sigh>

'bye Dave. Gonna be a bit smaller place without ya.
