Just rebuilt a set of SU's that will go on the 78 B. This is my first SU rebuild. New insulation, jets, piston springs, oversized throttle shaft(had to buy a reamer),gaskets, and dashpot covers.See attachment.
Every MG I've owned has had a ZS.

Rick, Good job on redoing the carbs yourself. Make sure the floats are adjusted correctly. That's a critical point in HIFs. PJ /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
Yea,
More polising on the float bowls and linkage and cleaning up the fuel lines. Can't wait to finish restoring the car and getting rid of the ZS.
BTW it is an HS-4 carb not HIF.
Off to watch Wimbeldon.
Rick
The throttle shaft center where the cable attaches has a hole at the "down"part at the rear for the spring and the other end goes in the center "D" stamp-out like the choke springs.
...just serendip I got here afore Tony did. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
