Just purchased a 1969 Sprite. Bringing it home tomorrow. It hasn't been started since the mid 80's and has been sitting in a garage in southern arizona for the past 25 years. Exterior is practically rust free, interior could use a little freshening up. Cant wait to bring this little guy back to life!

Congrats!!! Looks beautiful!

Looks like a decent little car.

Very nice. What fun.

Made a little video introduction to the car after seeing a similar post on this forum. I'm afraid I may have stolen his line about old cars coming with boxes of junk, but it's true. Anywho, just thought I'd share.

Tried embedding the video into this post, but it didn't seem to work, so here's a link.

I'm a fan of the wheels to be sure!
I've got a set just like them:

Not sure if they're exactly identical. Yours have a bit of a ridge around the lugs and look to have actual spokes, mine just have some oval cut outs. Mine might just be cheap knock off replicas of yours. Not to mention yours look to be in a whole lot better condition than mine are.

Well I didn't get a good look at yours, but they looked like "jellybean mags" or slotted mags to me.
Anyway I am a fan and your rear wheel arches seem to have quite a flare to them!!

I deserve no credit until I get it started, but thanks for the encouragement! I think the previous owner wanted to put wider rear tires on it, and that's why he did up those rear fender flares like they are. I think it looks pretty good, even though it's not original.

You may already know that Tucson has a very active British Car Community. Tomorrow there will be a (no organization ) British Car Show to kick off British car week. It will be in the easternmost parking lot at Park Place Mall (by LA Fitness). Should be about 50 cars. If you can get there, look me up. I'll be the old guy in the red Healey 100. From 7:30 till almost too hot.

Hey Marv,

Are the Tucson events published anywhere? You guys seem to be able to hold 4 times the number of events that Phoenix does. Now that the wife & daughter are working on their own cars there's a lot more family interest in going to events.

Hi Jody,

Let me know your email of choice and I will get you added to the mailing list. Major events are on the TBCR (Tucson British Car Register) website which seems to be down right now.

Yes, I had seen the TBCR website a few weeks back. I didn't know there was an event tomorrow. I'll actually be across the street getting my truck serviced in the morning, I may swing by afterwards. Maybe one day when I get it running I'll be able to drive the sprite over.

That will be a very nice goal.
My town has an annual festival a part of which is a car show.
I've been planning on putting a couple of my cars in it for several years now, but there's always been some excuse (like being out of town that weekend, the paint wasn't dry yet, the carpet kit didn't arrive or the seats were not finished - that's the kind of thing).
This year I just need to do it!

Just drove by the show. Can't wait for the service department to finish with my truck so I can head over there.
