Obviously there is a lot more important things to getting my BE restored than this thumb screw, but...while cleaning up I found a piece of stainless large enough to machine the side curtian screws. I dont like the looks of poorly chromed components. When they start to peel, can cut like a jagged knife and then pitting and rust. This screw will stay polished from now to eternity. I guess I dont need to identify which is original. I have a little more time than what a $7 part is really worth, but can be much more satisfied about it when car is all restored. I dont care about concours originality, I just want it to look clean and like new when finished.

Wow! looks great- and even if no one notices, you will, and you can be proud!

Thats not 304 stainless... is it?

Great, make a bunch.

Very impressive. Being able to make your own parts is an amazing ability.

Quite elegant, IMO. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
