My First Car.......

I nearly bought one that had been upgraded with a Cortina 1500GT engine.

Till that night you and your mate drove it back to school, and it got the tar beat out of it by some crazed willow tree!
hehehehehe

Fiat 1100D, four on the tree, suicide front doors. Learned to drive in it. Would love to have another.

1964 Chevy II Super Sport, palomar red with black interior!!!

Does the first car you bought count? or does it have to be the first one you had on the road?
I bought a 73 VW Thing when I was 14. It was about ready to fall in half. never had it running.
Then I got a 67 Ford Galaxie 500. owned it for 10 years. year 7 I had it on the road (barely) for the summer.
Bur my first car I drove was an 85 Toyota Pickup. 4 speed manual, rotted to snot.. Bought it with a bad motor. found a junkyard plant. Did the bodywork in tec class, put a 5 speed celica trans and seats in it during college. and a freebie sunroof I got from a friend. That thing was a little tank. It ran great!

1972 Citroen DS19 wagon - lasted 6 months

1962 Sprite, Iris Blue. Rod through the block. $50.00

'35 Plymouth 4 door, 3 on the floor, crank out windshield.

Beautiful fire engine red '46 Chevrolet cabriolet. Gave $50 and a salvage transmission. Met my future wife on a blind date in it. Cracked the block 500 miles from home. Had no money and had to sell it for bus fare home. Still one of the saddest days.

Has this thread turned away from Anglias into a My First Car Was a... thread with Steve's O.K.?

If so, I would like to join in, but don't want to be part of a highjack.

It hasn't been highjacked. The title of the thread is "My First Car..."

So to carry on...

My first car was a 1973 Plymouth Scamp with a 225ci Slant six. It was a hand me down from my Grandmother. The first car I purchased was a 1973 Datsun 240Z.

O.K., then.

Half interest in a 1940 Chevrolet Farm Use Pickup. $35 from a field.
