My First Car - do you have yours to add?

Unfortunately no pics. First car was a pedalcar, light blue, looked like a mid-sixties model American car.

First real car was a 66 Sprite, painted a military olive drab that someone threw a little metallic in to brighten it up (it didn't work). I think I paid $700, but it was probably more of a $500 dollar car at the time (78) scruffy but solid driver. Was great fun, and still appreciate a car with a few scuffs and dings as you can have a lot more fun with an ugly car (no worries).

+1 for the Fire Engine pedal car.

First car were my parents cars: 1973 Buick LeSabre, 1979 Buick Century Wagon and a 1983 Dodge 600. I ended up with the 600 a few years later when I went to college. HATED it. 400 pounds heavier than a standard K-Car with the same amount of power. Chevettes used to blow me off the line. The first car that I bought myself was a 1981 Chevrolet Malibu Coupe, ex-Arlington County detectives car. Nifty car, but needed too much tinkering than I had time for. Ended up with another parent hand-me-down, this time a 1985 Dodge Aries wagon that I drove the wheels off of. First new car was a 1993 Honda Civic Coupe - the first year of the couple. That was a great car.

Interestingly, when we did a CarFax report on the Aries, we found it was still on the road in Mississippi!

1934 Ford Convertible. Bought for $150 in March, 1950, sold for $125 in October, 1950 when I bought a 1940 Ford sedan (with Dad's help).
BTW, the computer locked up again when I was browsing these posts. Anyone else have trouble with Google Chrome freezing? Any cures?

i too have had internet trouble lately, but I was thinking it's an ATT u verse server thing.
(frankly, the whole internet thing is a mystery to me)

My first car was an orange jalopy racer pedal car but alas I have no photos of it in our archives that I have found to date. I still have my first pair of HO slot cars from my Aurora vibe set. My first 1:1 car was an inherited 1952 Buick Special 4-door with a straight 8 and 3 speed on the column. When I got it, the color was battleship gray, but I had it repainted so it would stand out more among the MG's and Triumphs in the fraternity parking lot at college.

My first car was a 1948 Chevy convt with a shaved hood and trunk. Paid $150 in Oct 55 and think it got traded on a 52 Ford convt in 1959.

Well actually my first car wasn't a car at all. Back in 1958 if you were fifteen and a half you could get a learners permit and with that permit you could drive a scooter. So I bought a Cushman Scooter and drove it until I was sixteen and was able to buy the 1940 Plymouth. I eventually sold the Plymouth and bought a 1950 Olds Coupe. I sold the Olds coupe and in 1962 I bought a 1959 Bugeye.

I still have my 1963 Lambretta scooter that I bought (used) and drove all through college. To this day I drive it regularly and it still runs great.
