My Father's 70th Birthday Present Revealed

Jim,
I just got the green TR3 back from my buddies' shop, where they did some wiring detective work. (The thing actually caught fire momentarily when they discovered the ignition cylinder was cracked, and it grounded to the dash!!!)

I'm not sure what I'm going to do. The top radiator hose was spewing coolant, so it's in my garage waiting for Vicky Brit to deliver. My red TR3 is in the shop getting the bronze bushings and OD fixed. I have a feeling that when the red 3 is back, I'll fix up the green 3's interior, replace the window, maybe get it painted, then sell it to someone that will drive it and show it. Since we decided to go with the Lotus for my dad, I've been realizing more that I need fewer cars that I use more. Heck I've only driven the TR8 twice in two months. My Dodge has gone 4 miles in 3 months. I've put probably 100 miles on the Miata in 2006, and I've had the red TR3 out twice in 2006.

As for a picture of my dad in the Lotus -- it's attached. You can see his '29 Franklin parked next to the Lotus. (He calls the Franklin "Big Red," so I'm guessing the Lotus will be "Little Red.")

Yer gonna have to hire someone to exorcise them.
