My Daimler started!

My 1950 Daimler Special Sport has been sitting in storage all winter and we have had many below freezing days and lots of snow. Well, tonight I went out to the storage place to see if I could get it started because they are putting in new doors in the morning on the storage place and I'll need to back my car out so they can get in there to work. Anyway, I put the key in and the electric (after market) fuel pump started right up, I waited until the carbs were full, pulled the choke and varooom! After a few cranks, it started right up! I was amazed (and happy).

Electric fuel pumps are magic in getting old LBC's to start in cold weather. That's my experience, anyway. I started my Elan frequently with temps in the teens (Bendix electric pump and Webers) and it never failed, ditto my old Jags and MGB.

I'm happy to hear the Daimler survived the winter.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure had I not had an electric FP, it woudl have been a different story. Now if I can just get that rear fluid flywheel seal replaced!
