Well, she's on her way to California. Going to a good home. Hopefully, the new owner will start posting here so I can keep tabs on her.

I shed a tear, and raised a toast.
But it's on to the next thing.
"Your friend who? has a TR what? for how much?" Hmmmmmm.

I understand how you must feel Mickey.....you put a lot of love and care into that little car, and when you invest a piece of yourself that way it's bound to hurt. You have the TR8 at least.

Thanks, all -

RG: I still have to put the finishing touches on the B for the wife. And I have a TR8 sitting in the driveway waiting to go "under the knife", so I've plenty to keep me busy. Still, definitely had mixed feelings about watching the TR3 leave. Glad someone else can enjoy it, but it'll be missed.

Mickey - where in California? I'll keep my eyes open for it.

On its way to Lancaster, north of L.A.

If I had the extra garage space and the funds, you would be seeing that TR often. That is one nice 3, I really hate to see it leave TN.
How is the B coming along?

Thanks, Mike!

The B is all but done. There are some trim pieces yet to go, and I'm not happy with a few suspension issues, but we've taken it out and about the area here, and it's running well.

Looking forward to tearing into the TR8, but I don't think I'll get much done until spring time.

I've owned and sold 60+ cars and everyone that leaves hurts.....I seam to get very attached to cars quickly, I thought about downsizing the collection a few times but I really don't think I'll be able to let any of them go, Someone was interested in buying the LE a few months ago and as he was looking at it I was hoping he would spot something he didn't like...turns out it was the price!
I guess seeing a car go is like losing a member of the family, then theres that haunting empty spot where it used to be.

Not EXACTLY empty - she left her "mark" for us on the garage floor! There will always be a part of her here!

WAT! Your LBC leaks! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

plus we've always got pics, and left over parts....sold a wreck of an MGA once and it was picked up from my driveway in the middle of the night...the next morning I came out to find a 1600 emblem lying where the car used to be, a few months later I purchased my current 61 MGA which happened to be missing an emblem, now when ever I look at that emblem I think of "Klint"(wreck MGA's nickname).

LOL! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The grille from dad's MGA Coupe that was rear-ended by a dump truck still hangs in my garage... and the brake pedal cover from his MGTD that came from Morocco and has arabic writing... and there's my silly collection of chilton/haynes manuals from every car I've ever owned. As if I'm EVER going to want to work on a Dodge Dart again!

*Shivers* and then theres some we wish we could forget. *Looks up a well worn Jeep Cherokee/Wagoneer Haynes Manuel*

Lancaster is out in the desert. Nice dry climate, but they better get some wetter water, a crankless radiator and an external fan!

My gosh that a nice car. I don't see how you could convince yourself to sell it. You need to go by yourself a bottle of some real fine sippin' whiskey. And I'm not much of a drinker (anymore).

Dang, Mickey....
Your intro sounded like the title to a really sad country and western song. If you play that record backwards, maybe she will come back home!

Thanks, Bill - Already "toasted" her, and I'll use the empty bottle to christen the new one!

What a great idea! But rather than C&W, I wonder if Doug Kershaw or Beausoleil would be up for a Cajun song...
