My 6 is Making Me Frustrated

Every time I make 1 step forward 2 steps back is next (wasn't there another post like this). The new starter I bought on eBay (fleabay to some) to fit around the headers doesn't fit right and the electrical hook ups don't fit to my satisfaction as the are against the pan and in a blind position. I have reclocked it to a more satisfactory position but then the headers interfere with it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif Am getting pretty #@$**! I order a fuel filter for the pre filter for the Carter fuel pump, won't fit in the location I want. I have to send that back and am back to square 1 on that. The 5 way connector I ordered from British Wiring never got here as they used an old zip code instead of the new 1 I provided. At least that is on it's way again. Took me 3 times to make the alt. adjuster before I got it right but now I think the GM Alt. is not quite on the same plane as the front pulley.
Some times I feel I will never get this thing finished!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cryin.gif

Gotta love it! Would you expect more?

Unfortunately, we've all been there. As one of our past Presidents used to say, "I feel your pain".

Looks like Pedro migrated to the north....and west......

I've been wondering about the static nature of your "Then & Now" sig pix. Now I understand.

when I get frustrated, just put down the wrench and take a break and cool off, think about it and then go back to work

The reason I bang my head against the wall is because it feels so good when I stop!

Thank you for keeping the prices low on OEM stuff. I enjoy changing parts, but not fabricating new ones.

Here are some pics of my conversion using the chrome Chevy
bracket. The piece I cut from the bracket was used for a support in the back, which helps with keeping it in the same plane as the water pump pulley. I had to cut more from the alt. than some articles suggest, not sure what that amount was, but it was beyond the casting seam.

The Flennor belt is the stock size for Tr6, purchased from TRF a "few" years ago.

No jab at all. I mean it. Everyone is using GM and Bosch so Lucas alternators are still pretty cheap brand new. I'm not one to cut brackets and such so if my alternator goes, it's a cheap easy fix.

Your car is coming along nice. It looks great.
