Hi there
Does anyone have a template to make up seat rails to fit Mx5/Miata seats to fit to my 1980 MGBGT. 140 dollars plus postage to the uk seems incredibly expensive and wondered if it's possible to knock some up at home

regards

I fitted some Miata seats into a 68 GT. What I did was to straighten out the Miata Rail attachment points and made up some metal blocks to raise the seat up off the floor and then used some heavy duty bolts that I had from a seat belt retro kit for a 65 Mustang. Worked great. A bit of fiddling and I'm sure you could do the same, maybe even better.

How have you got on with your seat problem McFish?

I have not done them but want to and my research leads me to believe that once the Miata seat mounts are moved (straightened) so they are flat with the floor it is a matter of taking a template of the B floor holes and the miata seat holes. Then tranfer the markings onto some 6mm flat bar and bolting the bar to the floor and then the seat to the bar.

The bolt heads protruding from the underside of the flat bar for the seat to mount onto are absorbed by the carpet.

Google it and you will see.

Cheers Rob
