"Must sees" - Lexington & Sarasota

I'm making a quick dash across the pond initially to Lexington South Carolina (Fri/Sat/Sun this week) for my sons wedding, then on down to Sarasota in Florida for a week as an added on holiday.

What should the discerning BJ8 driver be looking not to miss in these two places considering he in likely never to return ?

Andrew,

Congratulations on the ocassion for your trip !

I agree with BlueRidge1 that Charleston SC and Savannah GA are both good places to tour. Don't know what your interests are but they both are loaded with old historic things.... By the way... I hope you know that there is a Lexington NC as well as a Lexington SC and that you are booking travel to the correct Lexington.

Andrew--

The Sarasota/Bradenton area used to be a big retirement mecca and was known mostly for its senior citizens who rode from shuffleboard tournament to shuffleboard tournament on their three-wheeled adult trikes. Nowadays all of the Southwest Florida Coast is upscale, especially Sarasota. One of the attractions there is the Ringling Museum (from the Ringling Bros. Circus folks, which used to "winter" nearby). Longboat Key is an attractive drive. If for any reason you find yourself in Miami give me a call: 305-793-9467.

Have fun.
