As I disassembled the Healey at the start of the restoration process I carefully bagged and labelled everything.
When it came to the steering arms I blasted and painted them seperately so as not to get them mixed up.
Six months later I reassembled the front suspension (including a disk brake conversion) and noticed the steering arm in the bag labelled left hand steering had a 'part number' on the casting and two letters 'RH'. Assuming I must have got them mixed up at some point I swopped them over and reassembled eveything bar the steering rods (as these needed replacement).
Over the weekend I tried to fit the new steering rods then spent the rest of the day disassembling the suspension so that I could swop over the steering arms that had been in the correct bags in the first place.
Moral : Trust the system and just because its labelled RH doesn't mean it goes on the right....
